HCOS Databases
Comprehensive, up-to-date organization profiles, relationships and professional affiliations database, integrated with IMS transactional DDD and Xponent data.

HCOS provides timely reference information about hospitals, medical group practices, long-term care facilities, outpatient surgery centers, diagnostic imaging centers and home-health agencies. This comprehensive data includes 200,000-plus integrated DDD outlet links (shipping locations) and more than 2 million professional affiliations that can be integrated with Xponent for prescribing transactions or with PlanTrak for managed care prescribing activity. By leveraging the market’s best knowledge base of organization profiles and healthcare professionals, HCOS helps clients gain the greatest understanding of organization-to-organization and physician-to-organization relationships.

Consisting of more than 480,000 organizations in approximately 150 different classes-of-trade (COT), HCOS data provides details about organizations, such as hospitals and outpatient centers, and their purchasing/contracting relationships to other organizations such as a corporate parent, group purchasing organizations (GPO), pharmacy provider and distributor. Hospitals include acute care, psychiatric and rehabilitation facilities; outpatient centers include medical groups that focus on oncology, family practice and rheumatology as well as other areas of specialization.

In addition to provider affiliations, HCOS includes contacts’ names and titles for decision makers at hospitals, nursing homes, corporate parents and GPOs. HCOS data is available with all industry-standard identifiers. For organizations, these include DDD, DEA, HIN, MPN, NPI and PHS. For professionals, these include IMS ID, DEA, ME number and UPIN. This comprehensive cross-reference supports clients’ data-integration efforts and linkage to IMS transactional DDD and Xponent sales data.
