Hospitals Database
An accurate and comprehensive source of information on all United States hospitals.

The HCOS Hospitals Database provides an accurate and comprehensive source of information about all US hospitals, including an estimated 5,800 acute care, 750 psychiatric and 350 rehabilitation inpatient facilities. It profiles both independent hospitals and those affiliated with an Integrated Delivery Network (IDN), documenting the purchasing and contracting relationship. The data also includes the hospital’s association to the one or more group purchasing organizations (GPOs) with which it contracts for pharmaceuticals or medical/surgical products.

Profile elements for acute-care hospitals comprise more than 300 data elements. These include demographic details, Web addresses, profit status, top-30 ICD-9 procedures and diagnosis as well as DRG discharge codes, number of surgeries, number of procedures, teaching hospital and residency-program indicators, Case Mix Index, and licensed, census, staffed and specialty bed counts.

The Hospitals Database can be linked to DDD sales data as well as to IMS’ Health Care Professional (HCP) databases.
